Every man and every woman, every boy and every girl was created to lead. God gave to mankind, male and female, the dominion mandate. You do not give dominion to followers. The calling to lead is not an option but, rather, a responsibility. It involves the purpose for which man was created and for which mankind exist. It is a fact that man was created to provide leadership for all that God had created. "This is the account of the heavens and the earth when they were created. When the Lord God made the earth and the heavens--and no shrub of the field had yet appeared on the earth and no plant of the field had yet sprung up, for the Lord God had not sent rain on the earth and there was no man to work the ground,...." (Gen. 2:4-5) Is it possible that creation was momentarily limited because God intended for someone to oversee or cover what He had created? In other words, there was no rain because rain would produce plants. There were no shrubs in the fields because that would demand someone to work the ground and we are told there was no man to work the ground. The implication here is that man's purpose was to take care of the garden. "The Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it." (Gen. 2:15) It is clear that this was man's purpose. The purpose for man has not changed. It is and will remain his responsibility to work and take care of his Father's creation. Man was created to provide a covering over all creation maintaining the order already established by God. This remains our responsibility today and it appears that the need to maintain God's order in the earth is more challenging now than it has ever been. Let us pray, but let us also remember we are here to work and take care of all that the Father has entrusted to our hands.
